We always think traveling involves a big expense. It’s about knowing where to go and asking how to get to Rome. In this article, you’ll discover that exploring Cancun and having fun is possible on a budget. How? Read on to find out what to do in Cancun on a budget.
How to get around Cancun?
Once in Cancún, we recommend getting around by public transportation and avoiding taxis. They tend to be expensive, especially in the Hotel Zone. If you’re looking for beaches, we recommend Playa Delfines or Isla Blanca. If you’re more adventurous, you can head to Playa Marlín and walk along the coast to Playa el Faro. Don’t forget to bring a backpack, water, sunscreen, a towel, and a snack.
Another place you can visit is Plaza las Palapas. It’s a park where Mexican snacks are sold at very affordable prices. You’ll find everything from tacos, huaraches, ice cream, marquesitas, tortilla chips, cotton candy, corn on the cob, and much more!
Any environment?
Let’s not forget Cozumel and Isla Mujeres ! You should take a ferry to either of these two little paradises, and you’ll find it’s totally affordable and worth it. And if you’re a local and have more reasons to visit, there are always discounts.
Did you think that was all? We still have a lot to share. There are also the cenotes, small natural underground pools. You can go to Cenote Azul, Cenote Chac Mool, Cenote Ponderosa, and we could go on…
We haven’t run out of ideas. A getaway to Puerto Morelos is unavoidable. If you go in the morning, we recommend having breakfast downtown, some of the region’s typical eggs, “Los Motuleños.” If you plan to go in the evening, it’s best to go on Friday or Saturday. These days there are many art, jewelry, and craft exhibitions, and of course, don’t miss the live music.
Having fun isn’t tied to how much money you spend. Have you thought about where you want to go?
