Can you smell that scent of pine, punch, turkey, sea…? Christmas is coming to Cancun, and that’s it! If you love traveling for the holidays and are looking for a place with a warm climate instead of a cold one, Cancun is the place for you!
There are many advantages to coming to Cancun during this time… You can enjoy the beach, wear light clothing, and not have to worry about the humidity or the cold because they won’t ruin your flights.
What to do at Christmas?
Restaurants
We all know that if we can save our mom from having to cook Christmas dinner, she’ll be the happiest woman in the world. We have family-friendly restaurants where you can savor the local flavor and take advantage of Cancún’s party scene, like Taco Factory. There are also restaurants in Cancún where you can celebrate if your budget allows, like Marakame, Lorenzillos, Crabhouse, Puerto Madero, and more! Remember to book early because spots do sell out.
Beaches
Although the temperature in Cancun drops considerably for those who live here, we can assure you that you won’t be cold. During these times, Cancun cools down, and you might find people wearing shorts, short-sleeved shirts, and sandals. So, coming to enjoy the beach and the turquoise Caribbean Sea is always a good idea. We recommend Playa Delfines, El Faro, or Isla Blanca. Their waters are usually calm and pleasant, and the sand is soft and doesn’t burn.
Meteor shower
Lucky you! It turns out Cancún will be hosting a meteor shower this month. What better way to welcome Christmas than with such a spectacle in the sky? The peak viewing days will be December 13 and 14, with nearly 150 shooting stars per hour.
