Celebrate Children´s Day in Cancun

The idea of celebrating Children’s Day was born on November 20, 1959, when the United Nations General Assembly met in Geneva, Switzerland, where it decided to reaffirm the rights of children at a universal level.

Since then, although the global celebration takes place on November 20, each country has chosen a special day to celebrate and organize activities to contribute to the well-being of the world’s children.

In Mexico, Children’s Day was celebrated for the first time on April 30, 1924. And since then, every April 30th, we celebrate the children around us every day.

Together with the Casa Bonita and Villas  Isla Mujeres team,  we take this day very seriously and wish you the best Children’s Day. Therefore, we have selected some activities for you to do with your children in Cancún and surrounding areas, such as Isla Mujeres.

1- Xavage Park at Xcaret

Located near Cancún, Xavage is Mexico’s newest adventure park and promises to offer a crazy day out. Embark on an exhilarating kayak tour and then a tightrope walk, before adding four other adrenaline-fueled activities to your trip. With everything from ziplines and jet boats to ATVs and rafting, it’s the ultimate experience for thrill seekers.

You’ll kayak through Cancún’s rapids before reaching the summit on one of Latin America’s most extreme ropes courses. Afterward, you can decide how adventurous you want to be by adding up to four additional activities to your day.

Immerse yourself in the water as you ride the waves on the Dragonfly Jetboat or zigzag down the river on the Barracuda Whitewater Rapids.

2- Float Fun Cancun

Cool off from the hot Cancun sun by jumping into the water with Float Fun. This activity is suitable for all ages; fun and laughter are guaranteed.

3- Cancun Wax Museum

Discover your favorite cult figures, athletes, and other stars, or their wax representations, at the Cancún Wax Museum . Located in Cancún’s hotel zone, the museum showcases more than 100 Mexican and international celebrities, including sports legends, film personalities, musicians, and political figures.

Explore the two dozen rooms and pose next to celebrities like the Beatles, Gandhi, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more. Kids can get up close to heroes and villains like Spider-Man and Darth Vader in this family activity. Each stunning wax figure has been carefully crafted with intricate materials, including makeup and human hair, making them incredibly lifelike. Kids will love it.

4 – Swim with the turtles

Located between Tulum and Playa del Carmen is Akumal Beach, which in Mayan means “place of the turtles.” Great! You came for them!

Just a few meters from the beach, large turtles take advantage of the seabed to feed. It’s magical to swim alongside them and watch them come to the surface to breathe.

Accessible as soon as children can swim, as the turtles can be seen right off the beach! An afternoon is enough to enjoy these wonders.

This was just a small selection of activities to celebrate Children’s Day in Cancun , but there are many more to discover on-site. So don’t wait any longer; Casa Maya and its entire team will be delighted to welcome you during your stay. Come and have fun with us!
